Rev David writes: We are holding an All Souls service at Nunthorpe on Sunday 5th November 2023. During this service we will remember by name loved ones and friends that we have lost. We will read their names during the service and offer prayers for them. If you would like your loved one(s) name(s) to be read out then please contact David Godfrey or Ruth Lewis in good time before the service so that they can prepare a list. David’s Email is firstname.lastname@example.org . Ruth’s Email is: email@example.com If you don’t like emailing either phone Ruth [see Handbook] and leave a message, or write the name down on one of the slips under the pigeon holes in the foyer.
Winter Wednesdays: As Wednesday Hour closes down for the winter we are starting up Winter Wednesday Afternoons. Starting at 2.00pm on 8th November there is a varied programme of guest speakers and music. There is a programme available; in addition each Newsletter will give a few more details about what’s on offer. In December Ann Gartside is our speaker entertaining us with memories and stories, and Eric and the band will entertain us with Christmas music. Make sure you get your programme.
On Sunday 12th November it will be our Service of Remembrance [Poppy Day] and the service will start earlier at 10.55 so we can keep the 2 minutes silence.
On Sunday 19th November there is NO SERVICE at NUNTHORPE instead there is a joint service at Marton starting at 10.15am

After our excellent response in the Harvest collection of money and food for the Food Bank we have decided to keep a box in the foyer for your continued donations of cans, jars and envelopes with money which monthly, Kay will take to Middlesbrough Food Bank at Grove Hill.
At our Church Council meeting, Kay our treasurer, also said that since so many of us now give by Bank transfer she finds it easier to plan our finances. She suggested we might like to review and increase our standing orders in the light of increasing charges for heating our church.
